Today, our primary activities include:
-
Electronic information resources: We provide customers
in the Slovak Republic with online and off-line (CD-ROM/DVD-ROM)
information resources published by major publishers of the world. Our partners include Thomson Dialog, ProQuest
CSA, Ovid Technologies, Taylor and Francis Group, ebrary, Thomson Gale,

We also take care of subscribers of databases published by our sister
company - AiP
Beroun.
-
E-resources integration, management and linking: We offer
several solutions by various publishers which allow integration of electronic
information resources:
-
E-resources access management solutions: The NetMan solution by
H+H Software GmbH makes it easier to manage and provide access to online resources, software packages and CD-ROM/DVD-ROM applications.
NetMan provides a common interface integrating numerous optional components, such as:
- HAN (Hidden Access Navigator) designed to manage access to "for-fee" online information resources with access authentication based on userid/password and/or IP-address resolution. This product is also available as
standalone application.
- CD-ROM server based on the Virtual-CD technology - designed to provide access to information resources and multimedia by any publisher - at a local workstation, in a local network or
across WAN/Intranet/Internet.
- Terminal Server Application Management by NetMan allows to manage and deploy Windows applications in a network environment using the Citrix MetaFrame solution or
NetMan's internal functionality.
-
Consortium and buying group licensing: AiB has introduced the buying group
licensing idea in the Slovak Republic since
2003/2004. We are involved in numerous projects in the Slovakia, e.g.:
- ProQuest 5000 International consortium licence
- Knovel Library consortium licence
- CAB Abstracts buying group project
- ProQuest STM Package buying group project
- ProQuest Medical Library buying group project
- ProQuest Agriculture Collection buying group project
- and others...
Participants in these consortium and buying group projects are being provided
with extensive support: specialized websites in Slovak (e.g. infozdroje.sk), training and presentations, user manuals, brochures, specialized listservs etc.
-
Specialty events: One of our primary goals since the very start was raising awareness on electronic information resources in the
Slovak Republic and supporting their users. Therefore, we started organizing many events: seminars, workshops, trainings, presentations etc.
We also participate on some special events organized by other
institutions as co-organizer and/or speakers.
The major event
organized by AiP Group is the INFORUM conference. The conference
started in 1995 and has grown into the most important event in the
area of professional information resources in the Czech and Slovak
Republics. The conference now attracts over 600 attendees (more
than 70 from Slovakia).
